Dave Turner

Everyone at MBC is saddened to hear the news that David Turner, one of our longest serving members sadly passed away last week. Although ill health had been an issue for a while, Dave faced all this with dignity and much bravery, and until very recently was still having a game of snooker on his beloved green baize at MBC.

Dave has been an MBC member since 1978, and joined as a very competent snooker player, and was competitive for many years in the local leagues, proudly representing the Club. As time went by he was also bitten by the bowling bug and became a capable player and was a much valued and loved member of various teams and leagues, again proudly representing MBC.

Dave was also a talented artist, and we are honoured that he chose to kindly donate some pieces for our collection, the last being a piece of the view across the green painted during the covid lockdown. They will all be proudly displayed for many years to come as a lovely reminder of a true Gentleman, much loved friend, and Clubmate.

All our love and kindest thoughts are with Lynne, all Dave’s family, and many friends at this sad time. We will update details of funeral arrangements as we know them.

Rest easy now David. A Gentlemen passed this way, and we are all richer for his friendship and comradeship, over these many years.
