MBC Bowls Presentation Night
Come along and support the 2024 Bowls Section Presentation Night.
It’s been another successful season so far both for our teams and individual members so come along and help celebrating these wonderful achievements.
There will also be a presentation buffet, and following the awards presentation there will be a Family Fortunes Quiz and the usual games to try and round the night off with winning some extra dosh!
2024 South Yorkshire Parks Bowling Association Presentation Buffet & Race night
MBC is proud to again be hosting the South Yorkshire Parks Bowling Association Presentation Buffet & Race night.
This should be a great night after what has been a very successful season for our teams and individuals.
Please come along and support your County Parks Bowling Association as these events are vital to ensure their long term success. See you there!
£5 admission includes presentation night buffet.

150th Anniversary Members Night
Join us for the first of our special events to commemorate our 150th Anniversary year! This event is for all Members and we want to see as many of you there as possible to kick off this special year in MBC’s long history.
On the night there’ll be discounted drinks, a quiz, card bingo and a raffle!
2024 Bowls Season
Just a couple of quick updates as the start of the bowls season is now upon us:
The Bowls Fees list is now up on the notice board at the Club, so please make sure you pay before the first games. This can be either cash (preferable) to either Sarah, Jack or Lisa in person or over the bar. Alternatively payment to Lisa via bank transfer to the following.

Monday 8th April: MBC A v Colley A, 6pm
Wednesday 10th April: MBC v Maltby (Wath League), 7pm start but could change to 6.30pm due to light
Saturday 13th April: MBC B v Maltby, 1.30pm
Any support is always welcome!
Also we’re pleased to tell you that a range of sandwiches will be on sale for the Saturday fixtures this season! More details to follow!

The support we get from our membership is always something we are rightfully proud of and helps motivate the MBC team to continue working hard for all our benefits.
Thank you all for that, and for the good response to the 2024 reduced membership subscription scheme that was run through January and February.
Some of our newer and existing full members might not be aware that another way to support the ongoing financial success of MBC and get a reduced membership subscription, and that is through purchasing a share in MBC.
Shareholder members currently receive a £20 discount on their annual fees so the payback on their investment is relatively short timewise.
Each share is priced at £125 and there are currently still 560 shares available for purchase from the capital share issue from back in 2011. We would also like to inform anyone potentially considering this that we can now offer a payment by instalments option, with agreed flexible payments leading to share issue on completion of payment.
If any full member is interested in becoming a shareholder or those wishing further purchase of shares, please speak to any of the Board Members who will be happy to discuss this further with you.

2024 Membership Update
Just a gentle reminder that time is running out to secure your £10 discount for members & new members paying subscriptions in January.
The discount will reduce to £5 in February.
Many thanks to those of you that have taken advantage of the offer already. If you know of club mates that haven’t paid as yet, please help by making them aware of this reminder.

Barbara Woodhead
Many of you will know by now the sad news about Barbara Woodhead who passed away just before Christmas. Apologies to those that don’t but as is always the case in these sad updates we are led entirely by family wishes, so word has been passed quietly as and when people could be informed.
However we would like to pass on a message from Frank and his family, that they would like to see as many people as possible at a celebration of Barbara’s life and share some of the wonderful memories that you’ll know doubt have.

Our Barb was a true force of nature, who has been a mother figure, and great friend to many over the years at all the clubs she was associated with, and the various County sides she’s travelled with and supported. It would be great if you can share some love and memories with Frank and the family on the day.

Joe Martin
All at MBC will be saddened to learn that Joe Martin passed away on the 7th of December. Joe was a valued member at MBC for many years, and although no longer a member of any teams, would still come down for the occasional roll up during the summer afternoons. Our thoughts and sincere condolences are with Joe’s family and friends.
