It is with a heavy heart that MBC announce the passing of Margo Sinclair. She died peacefully last night surrounded by her family. Margo will always have a place in our hearts and will be fondly remembered for her love of bowls and MBC. She always put her heart and soul into every game and put just as much into the social aspect of the game too which gained her many close friends. Her Scottish banter and her shouting of “Simdgeon” or ” A wee Smidgeon” will be forever missed around the green. Further details of funeral arrangements will be shared once known. But for now – rest easy Margo our dear friend xx
Today I have received the information regarding the funeral of Robert Jackson. It will take place on Thursday 8th August 2019 at The Sheffield Cathedral at 10:15am. The family has asked that any donations be given in lieu of flowers to either St Lukes Hospice or The Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
It is with a heavy heart that MBC is letting their members know of the passing of Robert Jackson. A man with great passion for bowls and the current president of Sheffield Parks, passed away suddenly on Friday 12th July. Our condolences, thoughts and best wishes are with his wife Mary, and his remaining family members. Funeral arrangements will be displayed once known. RIP Bob

The warm weather brought a wealth of success with it for MBC and it’s members this weekend, with individual and team successes coming for the ladies and vets teams and individually for Jack Clarke & Andy Sorsby.
The vets team claimed the Nelson Withey trophy at Millhouses with victory over Whiteley Woods. The last time MBC claimed this trophy was in 1984 so a great achievement by the current team to reclaim a trophy that we last held 35 years ago!! Well done team!!

The South Yorkshire Triples were this year held at Millhouses Park. There were a number of entries from MBC including last years winners Jack Clarke, Andy Sorsby & Chris Kelly who were looking to retain the title. MBC were well represented in the final by Dillon Christopherson who played with Richard Lonnia & Callum Jeffrey (Hillsborough Pk) they played Jack Clarke, Andy Sorsby & Chris Kelly. In an entertaining final the scores were neck and neck around the halfway mark, but Clarke, Sorsby and Kelly took control of the game in it’s later stages and run out worthy winners on the day. Well done to all involved.
